The Photo Shoot

Hello Honeybees,

When you think of 50 what comes to mind? What does 50 look like to you? What do you think 50 feels like?

My tribe had a photo shoot on the mighty Mississippi this weekend to celebrate our year of 50.  Half the women is this picture have already hit the big 5-0 with the rest of us to follow.  I have been friends with some of these ladies since 6th grade.  Can you image having that kind of friendship? If you can’t you are missing out.  If you can then you know how amazing it feels to know that someone always has your back.

When first presented with the idea not everyone was on board because not everyone was ready to flaunt their 50. Afterwards we were all happy that we could come together to mark the occasion.  We came together because we love, honor and respect each other. We have been through a lot of ups and downs TOGETHER.

Our friendship is priceless.  Here are a few pictures that I had to make sure to share with the world.

If you ever want to know my secrets start with these two ladies. They know where ALL the bones are buried…….

The University of Tennessee at Martin brought this crew together and we are still going strong.

I present the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it:

Find your tribe and cherish every single moment!

You are only as young or old as you feel.

I’m giving a thumbs up to 50.  We feel great, we look good, and we are just beginning. There is so much more life to live for all of us and we plan to live it to the fullest.

I invite you to #FollowMeInto50 it’s gonna be a great time.
